Canada Visitor & Travel Visas

Keep your parents close with a super visa that lasts

The super visa lets parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents live with their family in Canada for up to five years per visit, on a visa that is normally valid for ten years. It is faster and more predictable than parent sponsorship, and the requirements are strict but clear. We make sure every one of them is met before you file.

A super visa is a multi-entry visitor visa for the parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens, permanent residents and registered Indians. Unlike a regular visitor visa, which usually allows a stay of six months, a super visa holder can remain in Canada for up to five consecutive years on each entry, and the visa itself is typically issued for up to ten years or until the passport expires.

Three requirements set the super visa apart. The host child or grandchild must show income at or above the minimum necessary income, commonly called LICO, for their family size including the visiting parents. The applicant must hold private medical insurance from a Canadian insurer, or from an approved foreign insurer, that meets IRCC’s minimum coverage and validity. And the applicant must complete an immigration medical exam.

Beyond those, a super visa is assessed like any visitor application: the officer must be satisfied that the parent is a genuine temporary resident with ties to their home country. We prepare the host’s financial package, review the insurance policy against the current rules, and build the applicant’s file so it holds up on every point.

Who this is for

  • Parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens, permanent residents or registered Indians who want extended stays in Canada
  • Families who are waiting for, or were not selected in, the Parents and Grandparents Program sponsorship lottery
  • Hosts who need help confirming they meet the minimum income requirement for their family size
  • Applicants from visa-exempt countries who want the long-stay benefit of a super visa rather than a standard six-month visit
  • Parents who currently hold a visitor visa and want to switch to a super visa for future travel

What we do

  • Confirm the host meets the minimum necessary income for the relevant family size using notices of assessment, employment letters and other accepted proof
  • Draft the letter of invitation and the host’s written commitment to financial support for the duration of the stay
  • Review your medical insurance policy to confirm the insurer, coverage amount, validity period and payment status meet IRCC requirements
  • Guide you through the immigration medical exam with a panel physician
  • Prepare the applicant’s evidence of ties to home and complete the online application, biometrics and any IRCC follow-up
  • Advise on renewals, extensions of stay from inside Canada and the transition to permanent residence if the family chooses to sponsor later

How it works

  1. 1

    Eligibility check

We confirm the relationship, calculate the host’s family size and income against the current threshold, and identify anything that needs to be addressed before filing.

  2. 2

    Host and insurance package

We prepare the invitation and support letter, collect income proof, and review the insurance policy so it satisfies the rules on the first submission.

  3. 3

    Applicant file

We assemble the parent’s ties evidence, book the immigration medical exam, complete the forms and write the submission letter.

  4. 4

    Filing and arrival

We file online, handle biometrics and any request from IRCC, and prepare your parents for questions at the port of entry.
