The Standard Visitor visa allows a stay in the United Kingdom of up to six months for tourism, visiting family and friends, business activities such as meetings and conferences, short courses and certain other permitted activities. Canadian citizens do not need one, but residents of Canada who hold passports from visa-national countries must obtain the visa before travel.
Applications are assessed against the genuine visitor requirement. The caseworker must be satisfied that you will leave the UK at the end of your visit, that you will not live there through frequent or successive visits, that you will not do anything the visa does not permit, and that you have enough money to cover your trip without working or relying on public funds. Refusals typically cite weak ties, unclear finances, or an itinerary that does not match your circumstances.
We assist with preparation. We are Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants, not UK-regulated advisers, and we do not represent you before UK Visas and Immigration. What we do is prepare the online application, organize your financial and accommodation evidence, write a clear cover letter and check the whole file for the inconsistencies that lead to refusal.
Who this is for
- Permanent residents, students and workers in Canada from visa-national countries planning a UK holiday
- Visitors to family or friends who need a well-supported invitation and evidence of their own ties to Canada
- Business travellers attending meetings, conferences, trade fairs or site visits in the UK
- Applicants refused a UK visitor visa who want to understand the refusal before reapplying
- Frequent travellers considering a long-term Standard Visitor visa valid for two, five or ten years
What we do
- Assess your eligibility, your status in Canada and the strength of your ties before you apply
- Complete the online application with you and check every answer for consistency with your documents
- Prepare financial evidence: bank statements, income proof and, where a sponsor is paying, their documents and a letter of support
- Organize accommodation and itinerary proof, invitation letters and business or family documentation
- Draft a cover letter that explains the purpose of the visit and addresses any weakness in the file directly
- Guide you through the biometrics appointment at the visa application centre and track the decision
